About the Role

Cognizant is hiring an experienced Payments Business Analyst (BA) with strong domain knowledge in SWIFT/ISO 20022, stakeholder management, and technical proficiency in modern platforms including Java Microservices and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will bring deep business analysis experience, proven leadership in BA roles, and technical familiarity with financial systems and services.

Job Summary

Minimum 10 years of experience in a Business Analyst role, with at least 2 years in a BA Lead capacity
Strong domain knowledge in Payments, especially SWIFT and ISO 20022 standards
Effective stakeholder management across diverse, geographically dispersed teams
Technical understanding of:
- Java / Spring Boot
- Kafka Streams
- REST, JSON
- Netflix Microservices suite (Zuul, Eureka, Hystrix, etc.)
- 12-Factor App principles
- Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra
- Logging & Monitoring: ELK stack

Responsibilities

Strategy

Develop strategic direction and roadmap for the flagship payments platform in alignment with Business, Tech, and Operations strategies
Leverage latest industry trends and innovations to deliver fast, effective product capabilities
Support Cash Management Operations by streamlining processes and improving productivity, risk management, and controls through technology

Business

Partner with Payments Business to translate investment decisions into product design, solutioning, development, and deployment
Ensure projects meet business goals for time, cost, and quality
Support commercialization, ROI growth, user experience enhancement, defect reduction, and continuous improvement
Promote an innovation-driven ecosystem enabling business through technology

Processes

Own end-to-end technology delivery across global markets for:
- Development/enhancement of core payment capabilities
- Regulatory compliance
- Operational improvement and process efficiency
- Building a robust and scalable payments platform aligned with the latest tech and architecture trends
Interface with business and technology leadership to ensure collaborative, seamless delivery

Key Skills & Qualifications

Strong business analysis expertise in payments, especially in SWIFT/ISO 20022
BA leadership experience with cross-functional and global team engagement
Technical background or understanding in modern financial systems, microservices, and cloud-native architecture
Experience working with product owners, developers, and QA to shape and deliver business solutions
Familiarity with banking and fintech domain practices and regulatory requirements
