Role Overview:

We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Financial Modelling Consultant (Financial Analyst / Model Builder) to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for building bespoke financial models for our new and existing customers, primarily focusing on startups and SMEs. You'll blend your expertise in financial modeling with strong client-facing communication skills, delivering high-quality solutions that truly make a difference. Beyond model building, you'll play a crucial part in product support, rigorous product testing, and actively contributing to our product roadmap.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for data, technology, and a proven ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable models. While experience in accounting/startup financial modeling is highly valued, we're also genuinely open to talented early-career individuals with a demonstrable passion for finance and tech, offering comprehensive training to help you thrive and upskill.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Model Building: As a Financial Modeller, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining flexible financial models tailored to startups and SMEs across a variety of sectors. This includes collaborating closely with founders to understand their business requirements, operational structure, and strategic goals. You’ll translate these insights into robust models that support key functions such as fundraising, revenue forecasting, expense planning, valuation analysis, and general financial decision-making. Your work will empower businesses to plan ahead with confidence and respond to investor or board requirements with clarity.
  • Dashboards & Reporting: In addition to building the models, you’ll be expected to configure dashboards, set up dynamic scenarios, and integrate actuals into forecasts to ensure accurate and real-time tracking. You’ll also customize planning logic to match the customer’s needs whether it’s mapping sales channels, adjusting hiring plans, or modelling unit economics. A key part of your role will be guiding clients to visualize different outcomes through scenario analysis and enabling them to make informed strategic choices. You’ll ensure models are intuitive, transparent, and ready for use by both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct discovery calls and conversations with clients to understand their financial modeling needs. Perform product demos, showcasing the power and flexibility of the Blox platform.
  • Client Delivery: Manage client expectations and deliver high-quality financial models and solutions within agreed-upon timelines. You'll handle project demands with clear communication and a supportive approach.
  • Product Support: Provide direct support to customers, troubleshooting issues related to financial models and platform usage.
  • Product Testing: Conduct thorough testing of new features and updates within the Blox platform, identifying bugs and providing constructive feedback.
  • Product Roadmap Contribution: Actively participate in discussions and provide valuable insights to influence the future development and strategic direction of the Blox product.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Template Building: Develop and refine internal documentation, best practices, model templates and training materials related to financial modeling.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis or financial modeling.
  • Proven experience building complex financial models, preferably for startups or SMEs.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets is essential. Experience with FP&A tools like Anaplan, Pigment, Vena, or similar platforms is a significant advantage.
  • Solid understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Based near Indore, India.

Job Type: Part-time, 4 days per week

Work Location: Remote, With occasional meetings with colleagues in Indore

Working Hours Schedule:

  • 25 hours per week over a minimum of 4 days - Monday to Friday
  • Generally flexible on working hours, promoting work-life balance.
  • CEO is based in UK
  • Daily team catchup at 9-9:30pm India time, this role should attend 1 per week.
