Overview:

The Content Writer is "the voice" of an organization by writing web content that aligns with their branding and other marketing efforts. Candidate must have demonstrated writing experience, professional and/or academic. He/she should have experience writing for a web-based audience as well as a working knowledge of search engine optimization best practices and how they apply to content marketing.

Core responsibilities include the following:

Implementing various elements of the content marketing strategy as instructed by Project Manager
Optimizing current copy on the website (page titles, meta descriptions, h1s, alts, anchor text, etc.)
Writing new SEO-friendly copy for pages on the website
Blog writing and posting on WordPress
Press release writing (as well as other forms of PR
-media pitches, articles, etc.)
Infographic creation and promotion
Content creation (eBooks, Case Studies, White Papers, etc.)
Video Transcriptions
Researching trending topics within a variety of industries
Other duties as assigned (Online Reputation Management & SMO)

Further requirements include the following:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A working knowledge of SEO and how it applies to content marketing
Basic knowledge of HTML
Creativity & resourcefulness
Extreme attention to detail
The ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines
Flexibility to evolve strategies quickly & effectively
Experience in WordPress and Blogger (preferred)

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field
3-6 years industry experience as an effective technical writer
Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
